High Value Sales in the Vail Valley This January
January 2014 was a very good month for the real estate market in the Vail Valley. While the market has been increasing steadily since January of 2013, this year has already seen a substantial improvement in both the number of transactions and the number of sales where the selling price was easily over a million dollars.

This past January, 107 homes with a value of $103.1 million were sold; an increase of 69 percent over January a year ago. Ten transactions involving sales of $2 million and above closed during the month. Thirty additional contracts on homes listed at $3 million and over were written between January and February. With a continuing strong economy, home prices are steadily increasing and holding firm as both buyers and sellers tire of waiting.
The number of high value homes going under contract certainly has both prospective homebuyers as well as homeowners who have been hesitant to list their properties passing the caution stage. All these factors point to a continuing strong market for the remainder of 2014.
