August 16 – 17, 2018, pro bicycle racing returns to Vail as the Town of Vail and the Vail Valley Foundation have partnered up with the “new” Colorado Classic to bring two-of-the-four planned stages to the Vail Valley.

August 16th will be the date of a circuit-style race on the streets of Vail Village, with male and female pro cyclists on a route in-and-around-and-through the Village along with music, expos and other activities, which will engage the spectator-friendly race.  As well, there will be activities for kids, giveaways, food and beverage stations and more.

On August 17th, there will be a “time-trial” from Vail Village to the top of Vail Pass before the pro cyclists go to Denver for the final two stages of the pro cycling Event.

Pro bicycle racing has always been embraced by the denizens of Vail, going back to the original Red Zinger Bicycle Classic and the Coors Classic in years past; creating a spectacle in Vail Village that would rival the current GoPro Mountain Games.  The Colorado Classic will continue a great tradition of pro cycling for Vail.
