Vail will, once again, host two days of professional bicycle racing in August, 2018.  Partnering with the fledgling Colorado Classic tour, the Town of Vail, along with the Vail Valley Foundation, plan to host “circuit race” in-and-around the Town of Vail on August 16th and a “time trial” from Vail Village to part way up Vail Pass on August 17th.  Also proposed is a two-night series of concerts as well as a Sponsors and vendors expo.

Hoping to garner a heavy media presence, the Town of Vail will be giving the Colorado Classic producers approximately $375,000 dollars for the right to host part of this year’s event; while the Vail Valley Foundation will absorb the liability for the concerts.

While “professional” bike races have come, and gone, many times over the years, Vail hopes that the races will bring a flurry of rental occupancies to the Town and that the business community will see the benefit of this type of marketing expenditure.
